how long is the wait on mobi

just gathering opinions here- i have read a ton of posts where people are "waiting" and holding their mobis until.....
are you waiting for them all to be sold out, and then your value will go up> what is it exactly is everybody waiting on

...holding them till a few thousand more are developed and the general public become aware of .mobi and start using it...
hopefully the RFP proceedure for premium names will help in this regard.

There are some large companies that have already purchased .mobis but have yet to publish or report them such as:

Microsoft.mobi = Microsoft Company
Tsutaya.mobi (rental shop bigger than Blockbusters)
Blockbuster.mobi = Blockbuster, inc.
CNN.mobi = Cable News Network LP, LLLP

well, you get my point.
They could have just got it to protect their names OR they may not have the time to make a mobile site.
But once there is advertisement on one of these names, the values will increase. It will be a boom! Mark my words

The huge surge of mobile internet usage that is coming with the next generation of phones. Wireless = mobile and people will have the internet in their pocket , all the time, everywhere they go. .MOBI has the potential to be gigantic with the next leap in technology.

I'm very positive about the good keywords and city portals in particular. Currently working on basic content but hope to upgrade as things mature. Currently up: Manhattan, Tampa, Cincinnati, LondonEngland. Will be developing ParisFrance, MiamiFlorida and am finishing a job for a premium 4 word mobi and another city in Colorado (to be posted upon completion).

and building mobi sites have to be done a special way right? do you think this might start emerging some time next year? i have some mobis- some i like alot- but i wasnt sure, hold or sell

well, depends on what you have. you could also rent out subdomains. as for an example:

If you have a last name: "Smith", then you could rent out:

http://Robert.Smith.mobi
http://Dominos.Pizza.mobi

or make emails for people to use on their business card:

Robert@Smith.mobi
eat@dominos.mobi

If you set up your server and subdomain your names, you can rent them out. but you need to babysit the users setting up those subdomains. You can ask your hosting company for directions and advice on how to set it up or they will do it for you.
About the debt, i think a lot of us are in debt and still buying names! hahaha

well, my company has a few fan/musician sites and we get about $200,000/month from registered users. but it is listed on the Official Menu on the mobile phone carriers. I really couldnt tell you how much it would be worth. I recommend asking the others. But once their popularity goes down, so does your profit. You should hold on to them. You should place it on this forum in the "APPRAISE BY PEERS" section to see what the others think.
