DNF$: 462 | No selling of .eu domains says Eurid I sent an e-mail to Eurid yesterday asking them when it would be possible to transfer a .eu domain to a new owner when I sold my domain. Here is their reply to me:
"Geachte heer,
Het is helemaal niet de bedoeling dat .eu domeinnamen verkocht worden
Om welke domeinnaam gaat het trouwens, het is misschien best dat ons juridisch
departement dit even onderzoekt om de te gaan of u niet met illegale praktijken
bezig bent.
Mvg
The Eurid Team
Translated it means: "It is not allowed to sell .eu names. Which name is this about? Maybe it is best our juridical department investigates if you are busy with illegal practises."
Now what the!!!....... |

Bah!! |

DNF$: 127 | Re: No selling of .eu domains says Eurid I sat through a .EU presentation at the Domain Roundtable a couple days ago in which the .EU folks said that the API to transfer domains from one person to another has not been released to registrars yet. I asked a couple of registrars about this and confirmed that this is the case.
The folks I talked to think that the API will be released to registrars soon (like within a week or so), but right now it is impossible for a registrar to transfer a .EU domain -- because the interface that would let them do it hasn't been turned on yet.
So yes folks. Right now people own a bajillion domains in .EU that they can sell but can't transfer to the new owner -- at least through the registry. you can still sell the domain, but you have to figure out some kind of side agreement that says "yep, as soon as the transfer mechanism is in place, I'll transfer it to you. Honest. I promise." Pretty strange, in my view.
The same is true of some other key registry procees -- I can't remember which one, it may be the process to transfer a domain between registrars...

HUH ? Care to give your view on why EURID would sent me such a message. I was negotiating the sale of racingworld.eu EURID says quite clearly NO SELLING IS ALLOWED!!!!!!! So we are stuck with names we will never be allowed to sell. |

Now what the!!!....... |
I contacted GoDaddy support asking them it transfer of ownership is allowed within godaddy, this is what they answered: Dear Petros -
Thank you for contacting customer support.
Any domain name you have registered with GoDaddy.com can be moved to any other customer account in our system. There is no charge for this process.

DNF$: 462 | Re: No selling of .eu domains says Eurid Yeah but the WHOIS record cannot be changed. It willl remain in your name, not the new owners. So the domain is in fact still yours not the new owners. The new owner does not own it actually. This is what I have been trying to tell you but it seems like no-one seems to listen that EURID says NOT ALLOWED so EURID being the registrar who controls the WHOIS records has the final say. So I guess I will just have to let all my .eu domains expire and take a big monetary loss. Bad luck but EURID holds all the cards and now .eu owners are stuck with their names. I foresee a massive amount of .eu domains coming onto the expired market next year and so then the rightful owners can register them.

About not being able sell is utterly not possible, so be happy and enjoy your names. Something will come up to set you free, these things have a way of resolving, trust me.
JUST GIVE IT SOME TIME.

I still see that Eurid was too close to the idea of "only people who want a particular domain ( for the rest of their time being ) will register it" and were not really aware of the idea of domains being something to buy or sell.
Would not be surprised if they are mainly elderly people ( "elderly" as in really, really old ) - just like politicians, never get the grip of what´s going on...
