| Platinum Lifetime Member | Is this true? GoDaddy Related and ICANN I wanted to transfer my domains from GoDaddy.com to Name.com After I started the tranfer GoDaddy sent me an email saying: "Express written objection to the transfer from the Transfer Contact. (e.g. - email, fax, paper document or other processes by which the Transfer Contact has expressly and voluntarily objected through opt-in means). The express written objection may be the result of a pending or recently completed Change of Registered Name Holder. This is an opt-in process during which the new Registered Name Holder agrees not to transfer for 60-days. This domain will be transferrable on 12/21/2009." I called them up and they told me I changed contact info and now the domain is locked for another 60 days and according to them it's ICANN that dictates this. Is this true? I actually did change contact info and I pushed from one godaddy account into another godaddy account 5 days ago. |

Country: | yep, its true. if you change the whois info you're stuck for 60 days. even if you didn't i think pushing it from account to account locks it for 60 days as well. |

Country: | It is GD policy, nothing to do with icann. However, if you transfer a domain to another registrar, then yes it is locked for 60 days per icann mandate. Registrars like to confuse you.

| Platinum Lifetime Member | Yes, Moniker does not do it. I like Monte, but Moniker is at the end of the list for me. Moniker is good when you have 5 domains max. @sdsinc I know the icann rules, but GoDaddy lied to me. They were yelling at me that it is ICANN rules and not GoDaddy policy. |
