Value of Hacked domains

Can anybody point me to some info on hacked domains and valuing them? What's an average hacked domain sell for?

On a related note, I'm a creative guy and I've found some good ones. If anyone's willing to pay me a small finder's fee, or a percentage of the sales they make from the hacked domains, I'd be willing to share my research.

Re: Value of Hacked domains

A 'hacked' name is where the domain extension forms part of the word/s, examples as given above is:

Hel.lo

or

Denti.st
Hor.se
To.es

As to value, this is a more specialized market, PWN's (Professional Web Names) are good because you can generally identify your market easily, like 'Denti.st' above. Others tough can be very profitable, but the marketing can be time consuming without a specified target market. Values entirely depend on what the name is worth to an end user. (Few do the rounds of domainers who are very conservative generally!)

Re: Value of Hacked domains

How would you market a hacked domain? And what have you seen them selling for? You've obviously got a few in your portfolio (nice one with the gofi.sh by the way).

Re: Value of Hacked domains

All I can do is tell you how I will be marketing 'GoFi.sh' later this year.

My first action will be to send notice to angling stores, world wide, targeting those that advertise fishing holidays. Second I would approach fishing manufacturing companies. It helps if they already have a poor domain name. The third line will be to advertise in the most popular angling magazines, by this time I would hope to have several offers, and from there start negotiations. The great thing is this leads to end-users who obviously will pay more than domainers.

Without giving away private information, I know of some deals in the $xx,xxx region.

I do think this is one way many businesses will go, it gives them an individuality to their customers, and with more and more advertising revenue going online it makes sense that businesses will look for any advantage they can get.
