Going through the names I've noticed instances where it looks like the sponsoring registrar is also the winning registrant.

Take for instance the great name racing.info where on the afilias whois it looks as though Central Registrar dba as DomainMonger is both the sponsoring registrar and registrant ??

Yes, registrars are allowed to register names for themselves to.

It is probably the result of an auction queue. The names will be changed to the individual registrants name within days or as long as a week.

If you had the high bid or high position for this name at that registrar when the queue was sent in, there is a good chance it is yours. However, this may not always be the case unfortunately.

Best of luck always!

They play it to the last second, and then submit it all under their name. They then give names out according to their database records. Hopefully!

Don't worry - take a screen shot!

I caught three small names, nothing too brilliant but I’m grateful.

In fact I was more grateful for the names that I didn’t get, LOL. In an early-morning daze I stupidly booked a .info LR2 name at BulkReg a few weeks ago which was one of those naughty ‘seven words’, and since then I’ve been praying I wouldn’t get it. I was sweating as I checked the whois just now and was ecstatic to see that a guy in Germany caught it !

I agree about the credit card comment Tee – time to splurge and renew some .coms that are past expiration, which I was leaving until after the LR2 in case my high bids were winners.

>>I’m also relieved it's all over. It's the last landrush for me. Time to get on with real life.

Well-put skylark, my exact feelings too. I also decided a couple of days ago to give up on the NetSol drops and get on with building on the names I already have.

Congrats to all who got good LR2 names !

Congrats Freakfer,

I can not speak to the value of the adult names, but I think that a logical use of .INFO in the not-too-distant future is for search engines and that suchen.info would be a great one! Some other great names on your list as well.

Sincerely, DomeBase

I got 5 names. Not the premium names that i have expected, but some "secondary" domains. This ones will be harder to develop, but anyway, what you think about these names ? And potential devolpment ?

teaching.info
children.info
kitchen.info
identify.info
industries.info
plans.info

Thanks for any feedback, and sorry for my bad english.

Welcome aff. Five of those six names you have are definitely not ‘secondary’ names, as you put it, but are excellent domain names that have huge potential. Congrats !

A search at Google AdWords shows the following monthly searches on Google for the keywords you have:

Teaching 1.6 million
children 5.8 m
kitchen 1.5 m
identify 0.2 m
industries 1.3 m
plans 3.8 m

Identify.info isn’t a very strong name IMO, but the other five are extremely highly targeted words that lend themselves to development, or a good price if you sell them.

Thanks Fizz. I call them secondary because my first choice in list have more mature ideas to develop. I have work for months preparing the LR2, and expected to get at least one of my favorites. But, it's ok, let's work on these names now.

And the "indentify" was an mistake , under the pression from selecting names before they fly to others when I preregister, but maybe I can do something around Identification and Authentication Systems.

Almost all of us missed out on the names in our personal top lists. My two were pics.info and pictures.info because although the bidding was fairly low on them, on GoogleAdWords they return huge monthly search results of 25 million and 41 million respectively.

In Portugal, do most people and companies prefer to use .pt, or is .com very popular also? How is .info seen over there?

Good luck with your development plans Aff.

I think that teaching.info and children.info could be well developed into important sites.

I registered with multiple registrars and was fortunate to get 3 of 10 names I sought in LR2...

HealthInsurance.info
Physician.info
Star.info

I plan to start working on development soon.

The generics being claimed by .info and .biz registrants totally are totally awesome.

I bet the typical .info and .biz portfolio of speculators are 100 times better than their .com ones.

The bar has been raised, and there does seem to be an end. Welcome to the new internet. Welcome to better web addressing.
