100s of domains on a box

Im wondering how many of you actually setup each individual domain (and the www subdomain) to bring up a landing page?

Ex. foo.com and www.foo.com are setup in dns and point to 1.2.3.4. Apache isnt configured at this point to serve up these domains.

I would like all my domains go to a default page without having to configure Apache, just DNS.

Is there any easy way to set this up?

Thanks, SF

If you set up a default virtualhost container in apache's config file for a particular IP #, any domain name not mentioned further on down in that IP #'s config group will serve up whatever is in that default container, AS LONG AS IT'S THE FIRST ONE LISTED FOR THAT IP #.

So after that, all you need to do is set a domain's DNS A record to that particular IP #and Apache will automatically serve up your default landing page without any further editing of Apache's config file.
