Ad Network Advice Please

My company, ATY.com (Autographed To You), is now getting enough traffic (about a thousand uniques a day) to sell outside banner advertising space either through our own efforts, or through an ad network. Since our time could be better spent developing other aspects of the site and continuing to work out celebrity contracts, we are leaning toward using an ad network.

We are considering Fastclick.com and TribalFusion.com. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with those, or would recommend others. If you think we should try to market ad space directly, I would appreciate your advice on that as well.

I would try to market them directly. Makes more money, no?

go with fastclick for popups. and tribal for banners. I use fastclick and am very pleased with them. there payments are always on time.

Thanks Mo - but we won't run popups or popunders. I quickly quit visiting sites that use those. Fortunately fastclicks will let you choose the ad types you want to use. We will use banners only.

When signing up for one of these banner networks, is thier a minimum amount of traffic?

What about trying something like commision junction?, maybe posting thier banners of sites that your users might have an interest in?

I thought I read somewhere (maybe on dnforum) that if the traffic is targeted, Comminison junction converts pretty good.

Yes. TribalFusion requires 1,000 uniques a day, but Fastclicks is only 100 a day. We are now thinking that before trying an ad network we will try to sell advertising directly to some companies we have worked with in the past to stage live celebrity events (at the Playboy Mansion in L.A. and on South Beach in Miami).
