Is Adsense allowed now on free blogs?

I just came across a blogspot blog that has Adsense on it. I always understood that free blogs didn't allow you to put Adsense on. Has this changed now? Do bloggers get all the revenue or have to share it with the organisers?

Why pay to set up a blog now, if Adsense is allowed on free blogs? Are there other advantages to be got from having the blog on your own domain name?

You can on blogspot, Google owns them and awhile back they made it easy to add Adsense as it was in the Blogger interface. Even before that, you could put whatever ads you wanted on them.

You can't put ads on the Wordpress.com free blogs. You can with Wordpress.org and getting your own Hosting.

Thanks, JB. So blogger and blogspot are both under Google, and you can put Adsense on both?

Yep. The site is blogger.com but when you make blogs, they're (whatever).blogspot.com. And you can put whatever ads you want on them, Adsense, other affiliate links etc.

Google will eventually terminate your account, without reason, even if you are 100% compliance, and they have admitted that to me.

I also see Google on clearly "inappropriate" sites based on their TOS, and they stay for years. The employees simply don't care -- the account terminations are random.
