read between the lines...this doesnt mean there isn't money there...its just he found a gold mine and he isn't going to waste his time making nickels and dimes... it opened doors for him as well.
if you want these clients start promoting or open up a thread and offer deals or smooth transactions so they don't miss a beat, these people/customers are going to be scrambling. Good Luck to all.

??...Stewie in was written in English....."The reality is there is no money in web design. It’s hard. The customers are hard to please. The margins are slim and frankly, there are bigger fish to fry."........I agree with Rick.....who would want this headache/small margins type of a business??......especially when u are an auction-house GIANT like Rick??
I don't blame him for getting out....I beat him to the punch though....![]()
Agreed completely. Developing for others is a pain in the rear. It's so much easier to ask yourself a question about a design / functionality than a customer. You pretty much have to be psychic to do web design/development, unless you charge strictly by the hour. Charging a flat amount can be financially suicidal.
All offers good for 72 hours except running auctions

How come there is no money? Rick was selling the sites for $250 while others did them for under $100, should be enough of a margin. I'm surprised with these news, I think maybe people just started using the cheaper services and it's realy hard to compete with the prices in this.

Fact #1: Domainers are penny-pinchers
Fact #2: minisites != Web development
Fact #3: Time = Money
No surprise.
There is little added value in webdesign these days, in particular crippled minisites... especially when you can outsource the job to India. Plus... why develop for others if you have the know-how and can make money out of it![]()
NameNewsletter.com - free lists of available domain names
ZoneFiles.net (beta) - ccTLD and gTLD droplists
Forget about development. Undevelopment is the new development!
Time for parking again!! LOL
Google loves non-original content...![]()
The amount of bullshit surrounding the minisites saga has reached epic proportions. When Rick is smart enough to realize that, people need to take notice.

hmmm... i guess i am considered a cheap ass one since i do this as a hobby Thanks for clarifying this!
Good points, all of them.
It is easier to get one of your sites up quick to start generating revenue. Then, time permitting, you can go back a tweak things, add stuff, etc.
When you are your own customer, it is much easier to please the client.
Although, sometimes we are so difficult to please ourselves and we end up tweaking things to death.
Personally I just use good old dnforum template services for my mini sites/domain development which depending upon the number of sites you purchase can be as low as $25 each, and then spend time as is possible making them better. One example is here:

Have gone thru this with you like 3 times in the past.....including the time you were in car headed to a wedding last year....i hear it all the time from domainers...lol..."i got tons of names....need to develop them....blah-blah-blah"....and it's nothing but a wild goose chase...waste of time....and that is why i just now do my own development on my own sites....and not have to worry about cheap-ass domainers with 2000+ names that they want to now develop into these fantasy money making sites with a $25 budget per site...lol....LMAO........to them i say...good luck...and good night!...
