Hi all,
I have a domain - abqo.com - receiving about 20 u/v per month. I had an idea of turning it into a GEO site for Albuquerque and the surrounding area.
AEIOU.com quoted me $549 for this, plus $125 for link building.

I've never worked with any development companies before, so I need some advice.

I haven't got a very large budget for this site, and it sounds like a lot of money for this type of service, so I'd like to know - is it worth it? Do you think I will be able to make a steady income from the site in a matter of months? Or is there any other company that you'd recommend?

Nah, only if some pennies. From what I understand they only build small sites with adsense and then add a couple links from social bookmarks and maybe some directories. These sites look very good and professional and they can be a good start, or placeholder for a premium domain (although you can usually get that for much cheaper), but to make a significant revenue on a rather random 4 letter domain you'd need much more than that.

Yes Michael is right it takes a lot or work your best bet is to get a site built cheaper with more pages more conten and about back links you can either make blogs or buy them your self.
