Anyone interested in developing auto-sales websites for dealers?

I was thinking of developing the following websites:

    CABMW.com
    FLBMW.com
    LABMW.com
    WABMW.com
    NJMercedes.com
    NJKIA.com
    NYKIA.com
    NJSUBARU.com
    NYJaguar.com

Many dealerships are already using state + manufacturer.

    Look at NJAcura.com, NJFord.com NJBMW.com, etc.

So i was thinking... if we develop great looking templates (no online ordering, but quote requests, appointments, car ads, dealership pics and descripton, etc.) we can sell them to the respective dealerships.

    Anyone interested?

Why not trying contacting them and seeing if they are interested first?

Good question, which i have thought about.

The thing with auto dealers is that 99.9% of them know nothing about computers, web marketing or any of that. All they know is how to sell cars directly interfacing with the customer. Have you noticed how bad the majority of dealer ads on tv and in the paper are?

If you approach a dealer with a concept they will turn you down. More quickly if you simply offer a domain name. If you, on the other hand, approach a dealership with a working prototype of a website which clearly outlines the benefits of having an online presentation and demonstates how the dealership could attract more potential customers to their showroom, the dealer may go for it.

Showing the dealer your domain name and pointing a finger at other automotive websites does not mean the dealer will be convinced you or anyone else can design and develop a comparable competitive presentation. The dealer also has no experience or desire to contract a design firm, unless the outcome benefits are clearly illustrated.

I guess the main idea here is that dealers know what they do best and they dont want to take the time and effort to develop something new. What they do want is someone know also knows what they do best and is capable of designing, developing and launching their website.

What are the pros and cons? This involves time and effort. This also increases the value of the product. You can try and sell just the domain name for $50-$100 or you can sell a website for $3000-$10000 and make a name for yourself while at it.

Anyone interested, please email us your resume and examples of your previous projects to info@siteoven.com
