    Anyone used getafreelancer.com

    Hi
I have quite a few domain names and I think it is about time I develop a few of them instead of parking them. Has anyone ever used anyone off sites such as getafreelancer.com to design a website for them. Most of the guys on there are from India and seem pretty cheap? worth a go? My main website idea is a kind of property rental site. I just need customers to be able to load there property details to the site themselves and give them a password and an account. Then use the database so users can search available properties.
    thanks richie

personally I like www.guru.com better, I used both services. With guru.com you could use their escrow service.

The guys from india hmm, I am sure not all, but a very high % of these "companies" are simply crap. You will see once you post ANY project, the indians jump in to quote like ants, I once asked for a patent lawyer in USA, and more indian's applied than US lawyers

Look for a ready script, I think there are many realestate scripts for sale, it will save you alot headace.

I have used getafreelancer.com many times. Very mix feelings. It seems that it is easy to find someone to do jobs, the issue is that there is always communication gaps, and nothing is exactly as you imagined or required. It is always just off by a smitten. Almost, but not quite.

Do me a favor guys, this is nothing yet I just launched a few days ago, but I hope will be in the future so please remember it later when looking for coders and freelancers. I created TempFreelance.com.

It is nothing right now, but might be in 6 months+/-

I've had bad experiences with guru.com as a developer. It seems they fill their site with "ghost" projects. Unproven but at the rate I posted, it was impossible never to get a reply and heard rumors from other sites.

elance.com is better than others. They used to have astronomical prices but lately have restructured their pricing plans. The leverage they have is making freelancers pay to sign up and results with better bidders.

getafreelancer.com is a good site. However, you have to be careful and not select just the cheapest or the promise to complete the fastest. Make sure bidders have a good reputation and stay clear of copy/paste replies.

I have used, Getafreelancer and Elance, both of them was fine. Didn't had any problems. But, as mentioned in earlier posts, don't select the cheapest and fastest.

Look for their reputation before selecting.

it can be a hit or miss with getafreelancer ... post a small project
to try and find someone good and dependable. You can then use the same person over and over if they are good for bigger and bigger projects

    A few pointers:

    • Be extremely specific on your project scope
    • ask for real examples from previous work
    • make sure they have a handful/variety of positive feedback
    • cheaper is not always the best option ... .neither the most expensive
    • never pay up front
Buying .com 1-2 word generics and making $$ - $$$$+ PPC revenue per month. Please PM if you have any on hand

I think I used them and elance as well.

    both sucked.

I had an extremely complicated project that anyone bidding MUST READ before submitting offers.

Within a minute of posting, tons of offers came pouring in.

No one read a damn thing,

They were just alerted to a new posting.

And stay away from the "I speek very good englisch" freelancers from Eastern Europe.

I am not making that up. I actually had someone post that in their offer.
