best hosting for video content?

I'm in the process of buliding a site which will have plenty of video content and will need the ability to allow users to upload their own content to be streamed (similar to youtube but on a much smaller scale).

I'm new to web hosting so i'm hoping for some advice on the cheapest method of hosting such a site. Also what is the cheapest/user friendly method of streaming video?

it depends on how much videos you will host and how much visitors you will receive. But if you want to build a video-website with a decent amount of videos and visitors I would suggest taking a dedicated server.

You'll have enough diskspace and bandwidth.

Shared hosting is not a good solution cause if your site grows and eats more bandwidth .. you'll probably get kicked for dubious reasons ;-)
