Best Route for Ebook site development

I am developing an ebook website. I need to choose the script and get it loaded with ebook content to sell.

I see too many circular sites going to various private brand sites and I want to get private brand and major books on this site. Many of these offer just affiliate programs (affiliate programs just never pay), turnkey systems that do not allow other ebooks then the ones they supply, or just empty shell ebook programs.

Maybe a nicely designed zen cart but I just cant figure out where to get the backend into a real ebook site.

How do your stock an ebook store with content? What are alternatives out there?
