Angry Big troubles with FeaturePrice.com

Hello,

I have MAJOR problems with FeaturePrice.com and wondered if any of you have advice or similar experiences.

Here's my story...

I had my domains hosted at http://www.Featureprice.com for a year and was very happy with them.

But 10 days ago they changed completely.

Since then I have NO MEANS of getting support (I have tried phone, email, live chat and even payed $25 for their 1hr guaranteed (!!!) support). Still NO response from them. (I got a canned response to question, but when I tried to log into the help-system none of my user/pw combinations worked).

In addition to that I had lost ALL access to my control panel for days until it started working again a few days ago (never an explanation given).

Up till now I have NO answer to any of my questions (I need to install a bulletin board). I cannot afford to go on without support like this and will most likely cancel my hosting with them during the next days.

If you have any advice, phone/fax-numbers, or just experiences with them, please let me know! Thank you!

Reinhard

I have read of several similar circumstances. Do a search on the forum for Feature Price. Do a search at webhostingtalk.com as well.

I used FeaturePrice.com hosting services for over a year also & rhopperger, the same thing is going on however, expect a change with the new & huge servers they changed over to. Have u visited there server equipment page & connectivity speeds ? The the amount of GB they offer is really a good pkg for the $. You can host up to 6 individual domains there (not subdomains) for what many hosting companies charge for one with that much space offered. You are right about the changeover, they notified no one. The tech support # 1-800-214-8829 is free so just keep hitting that redial button. I have found the best time to get thru is after 10:00pm at night. I'll hang on for another month or so. Give'em a chance if they were as good to you in the last yr as they were me. (Never down).:depressed

Hello DomainProfiles,

my problem is support. I have a few important sites up and if (as recently) I needed to install some software and couldn't and all I needed was some support to help me over the hurdles, then support becomes pretty important I'd say.

A large part about hosting is about knowing that there is somebody you can talk to in case there are problems. And a company that I cannot reach in days no matter what I try, and that does not allow me to follow up on a question that eventually did get answered is not an option for me.

I trust that the strong corrective forces of the market will either improve their support again or drive them out of business. Both is fine with me.

Hello rhopperger-

What did FP say when you talked to them in live chat?

FeaturePrice.com also has a .pdf manual you can download to solve all your problems if you can't get thru by phone. That is what I did. Its easy to read & understand.

Hello,
thanks for your comments.

Well FP never said anything on live chat. I once even waited half an hour and then the darn thing told me "Well, it's been half an hour and nobody answered, I'll terminate this chat session now because obviously none of our technicians likes to talk to you"

We'll tell me that before I wait for half an hour! Geee!

And I didn't find that pdf file either.

We'll in the meantime I have changed hosts (have not cancelled with FP yet, VERY curious how THAT is going to be!) and am very happy at dathorn.com For practically the same money I had 2 Platinum accounts at FP), now I have unlimited domains and GREAT support. That's a good deal and I am glad that my FP adventure is over.
