    Arrow C-Panel Question.

In C-Panel - there is a "Latest Visitors" area in your 'Stats' section where you can view information about the last 300 visitors to your site. Each visitor gets a box that has several fields that shows certain information about them. Well I have uploaded a screenshot to the link below - and need someone to tell me what the area that I marked with a red "THIS SPOT" is supposed to represent. This field is called "url" but it's not the referral url. Sometimes this url field points to the logo at the top of my site - and sometimes there is just a forward slash (/) but when you mouseover it you see that it's still a url address too. Sometimes it's various different things.

Does anybody know what this url field is supposed to represent????

I'm trying to find out if I have a problem - with the various things that seem to show up there.

It's more what they were looking for ie URL, if it's an expired site you'll see what pages are (were) most popular - even if they get 404. You'll also see one that has Url: /cpanel that's you checking it out. If it was a vB site you'll see a lot of /vb also.

latest visitors is a bit old however and useless for popular site.

Thanks to JoltHost & Domainaholic for the replies.

Hey Domainaholic - here is what's confusing me.

Most of the time - there is one of two things in that field.

    1) The name of the logo at the top of my site. For example "/logo.gif "

    2) Just a slash " / " with nothing following it. However if you click the slash - it points NOT to the main url of THIS site, but the main url of another one of my sites - that this site used to be a subdomain under. For that matter the logo (#1 above) also points to my other site and NOT this site where the logo actually is.

What does this mean? Do you understand what I'm saying? In both cases - the url does NOT point to the site that the stats are about - it points to another one of my sites that THIS site used to be a subdomain under.

So has something gone wrong? THIS site is no longer a subdomain under the other site - and it now has it's own Hosting plan. So why should those point to the other site? Is something mixed up on the server?

I really need to figure this out. It's driving me crazy. Heh!

    really confusing.

one thing i found out from my cpanel is that the url pertains to the page that was active on the browser before the user entered your site.

it pertains to what site was on the browser before the user came to your site, if it is ur own site on which he is clicking a link and viewing another page, therefore the logo.gif at many places.

the funny thing is cpanel extracts out the domain http://domainname.com and only posts the remaining url information to the stats page.

yes but unfortunately there are no such files in my home directory or my server, hence i assume that those files are basically the files accessed by the browser previous to accessing my site.

nope, i am talking about the top url tab only, not of the referral url.

actually, i would want to look at some of my other sites cpanel information and determine how it is being catalogued.

and which log files on the server cpanel extracts this info from.

    Hello,

Its actually the page that was accessed from the user either from another site or yours.

Say you acccess your cpanel YOu'll see a /cpanel link since you haven't tried to access the page from an outside link.
