Creating an RSS Feed

I want to add an RSS feed to a static website for SE purposes. I want to do something similar to what Ron J. did with DNJournal for selected articles. I would imagine I create a feed file and add new articles by hand each time I post them. Is anyone familiar with setting up a feed, and if anyone has done it before, can they point me to a good tutorial where I can set one up on my own?

It appears that it's working, but I guess looks can be deceiving. I tried to validate it on http://www.feedvalidator.org/, but it says the feed isn't working.... hmmm.
