Creating subdomain passwords ..help.. 100 DNF

I have started creating some sub-domains to hand out free sites on.. I am using cpanel.. created subs no problem ..but it just dawned on me went I went to FTP that I need to create new passwords for the sub-domains, I dont see that option in this edition of cpanel.. And last year I had over 30 sub-domains and I cant rememeber if I ever created new passwords for them because they were for my own use..(I'm losing it )

Bottom line..how to creat new usernamesand passwords for the subs.

Also , what are my email options for the subdomains..?

I may be calling it a night soon, but I'll be back in the morning....

There should be the option to create a Ftp account for the subdomain. You use the subdomain name as the user name.

You can create a email account for the user and forward that to their prefered address.

If its the default theme Ftp manager is under account settings.

You can also give them access to email on your domain like this

    Thanks Jolt..
One of those "duh" brain dead days...

Still having trouble actually FTP ing though...

    I created the name whatever.saintcloud.us

so this morning after I read you reply I created the FTP account ..

    USER: whatever.saintcloud.us

    PASS: something

    Then went to FTP ..

    URL PATH: whatever.saintcloud.us

    USER: whatever.saintcloud.us
    PASS:something

but I keep getting wrong password error message.

I have created a new password..but get the same results

Does is sound like something obvious? anything that rings abell with what I may be doing wrong?

I have used FP and FP2000 but I cant use FPs "publish" either..but that is simply because I cant figure out how to install FP extensions from Cpanel for subdomains.. Installing to the root Saintcloud.us was not a problem and is obvious..I would think that if the extensions are installed at the root it shoud passon down to the subs? ..

I'll probably have to put a helpdesk ticket in on that..

I want to get FTP working first..

then I have a question..get back to the email with you..

    DNF bucks on the way..

    Thanks...

What I want to do is .. Give away say small 10 megs of space for all the small businesses in Saint Cloud .. Business card sites if you will with their own email address.. Anchors.SaintCloud.US with the same email Anchor@SaintCloud.US .. I used everyone.net about 2 years ago... You think that would make more sense

    http://www.everyone.net/main/html/af...e_program.html

The object of course is to give away 200-300 of this space ..then offer the premiunm space , classified program the extras ..etc..

Apparently there is a bug with the latest apache and cpanel both as far as Ftp is concerned. This may be the problem. My techie is looking at it and I'll let you know if he figures out the way around it.

Wow...appreciate it.... The biggest problem for me is webalizer constantly going down in Cpanel...

That's across the board with allthe host I think...at least the last 3 I have tried..
No one can ever give a straight answer to what the problem is..I suppose simply a bad "handshake" between cpanel and webalizer? Frustrating as hell though...

Hey Jolt, Just figured out why I was having difficulties.

When I use to creat sub-domains before I always created them in WHM (web host manager) ..pretty clear cut and I can then add the FP extensions with one click , and each sub then had it's own cpanel with email etc..

So it had been awhile since I had created any subs, so when I started this time...I went into Cpanel to create subdomains INSTEAD of WHM, thats why I couldnt figure out why everything was "differnt" and not working for me..Sure you can create and I did subs from the cpanel, just more of a pain.

Just letting you know I sorted it out.

    Thanks again...
