Developing a Full Website

If I'm going to develop a site to sell, should I use scripts? Templates & Dreamweaver? If you htink scripts, does anyone have a good script for a content site?

Re: Developing a Full Website

I think it depends on what kind of site you want. If you are going to develop a forum site like DNForum.com, I would definitely say go with a script. A content site is a little general. I say it could go either way, scripts or no scripts. A simple header image, side menu, and then content space might be all you need. If that's the case, I wouldn't bother with a script. If you need a massive article database that's searchable, and let others write content, you might want to go with a script.

Templates are kind of the same way. Depending on the site, you could take the easy route and go with a template. I normally don't go with a stock template, but I change it around a little. If you can find one that's in your price range, you like the way it looks, and it easily adaptable to what you need it for, it might be worth it. On the other hand, you might not need to go through all of that. If you just need a simple menu and header image, it might be more work to adapt a template to fit that....basically a content site isn't enough info for me to give you a concrete answer.
