    Development Partnership?

Wondering what experienced folks would think of the prospects as well as pros and cons of seeking partners in domain development projects?

For instance, one party brings to the table a domain-name that is objectively deemed to have a potential value "as such" (say $2K) and the other party adds to its value by its development, marketing & promotion. Then, down the road, both parties get their pre-determined share from either the sale or profits (otherwise) from the domain.

Anyone would like to explore this further?

Develop your names yourself. If you have a partnership like you suggest, further down the road could turn into a nightmare. Greed could play a big part and you could end up losing the domain name and the website.

In my opinion, partnerships don't work for you and could work against you in the long run. And NEVER partner with a friend. Chances are, your friendship will be jeopardized.

    Development Partnership

I think it depends on the scope of the project and the immediate cash flow available. If I owned a great peer2peer domain like downloadmusic.com and I had no idea what a p2p involved but I did know that the domain received traffic then I would seek a partner that could develop the project. This is especially true if you had $0 in operating and upfront cash flow. If I had money to spend then I would say screw the partnership agreement and simply pay a developer to build the project as a freelancer.
