You must be talking about MIRRORING. You probably need a host for that. AND some don't charge extra if you already have a paid account with them.

heres is What I would like to do:
I have a site called example.com (example)
can I have myexample.com and examples.org all show the contents of example.com, but NOT be redirected but still show examples.org/index or /sales or /whatever just as the original while still keeping the domain name?
Is that possible?
If it is , how can one do it?
Is it offered by any regsitars at that lkevel instead of simple forwarding?
Thanks a bunch!

Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, @Nameslave unrepentantly embraces #Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard inspired at least partly by Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.
Thanks nameslave.
What do you mean by host? i have a dedicated server (cpanel).
Is there some software that does that?
TIA!

cpanel does that for you
I think you have to point the domain.
It's been months since I set up a site like that.
But I did.
It's either domain pointing or domain parking. Both cpanel allows you to do.
He seems to be referring to masking, aka frames forwarding, where the url of the forwarded site stays the same in the browser window after it's forwarded/redirected to another site. This is something I also have difficulty with.Originally Posted by MediaHound
yes, thats what i mean.
the content structure of example.com stays the same, but the new site, called example.org 'feeds' itself from example.com
So:
example.com/data/new.html
is the same as example.org/data/new.html
so it looks like the domain has a site on its own but it is actually a copy of the first one, but to the user it will look like he is on a completely different domain/site from the URL.
Cant figure it out from cpanel yet...

if you point the new domain to this site, if you go to
newdomainyouarentsurehowtosetup.com/faq.php it will in fact give you the faq page from the exisiting site and show it in the address bar as
newdomainyouarentsurehowtosetup.com/faq.php
Please dont mis quote me if you arent sure what I mean!
cPanel allows you to do this.
This is not masking or frame forwarding
It is either pointing or parking I can look it up like I said its been a while since I made a site have to do that.
masking will not show the files after the domain, like /faq.html , etc ... you need to set your domain as an alias of the other domain so example.org/faq.html shows as example.com/faq.html

he does not want masking, what he wants is two virtual hosts, both pointing to the same physical files. Also the name server entries would both point to the same IP.
It is common, and simple to do. I do it by editing the server config files, and or using sym links.
Both of you are correct. cPanel can do this entry for you.
Cpanel calls it "parked domains." Just "park" myexample.com and examples.org on top of example.com and it will do what you want.
thanks!
Will try it out a bit later with cpanel.
Really appreciate everyones input!

Was referring to what Seeker was asking, the thread starter, not what MediaHound said about his request. I should have quoted seeker, not you, to avoid confusion.Originally Posted by MediaHound
Something to consider if you do what you are describing is you are "penalized" by the search engines. You have three identical sites, which will each "rank" in the search engines. The crawler identifies this and "drops" you in their rankings.Originally Posted by seeker
At least that how I understand it works with Yahoo.

I heard that as well
If you go to domain-name-for-sale.org or buydomains.ws or domainbet.com or domainfare.com they will take you to domainturn.com seems keeping the listing is tough sometimes they fall off the search. I read that some search engines will not let you list if the domain to the same page. I wonder if you listed to different pages if that would work?
Here is my take on the subject.
Say you have > www.urlpick.com/dnfnews.html
and you have > dnfnews.com
you can set the dns of > www.dnfnews.com to "frame" > www.urlpick.com/dnfnews.html
when someone types in www.dnfnews.com > they will be taken to > www.urlpick.com/dnfnews.html
but be sure to set the page title to "dnfnews.com"

you can use stealth masking at mydomain.
it can mask
