What is the easiest forum software to install and administrate?
Easy is essential since I am a bit of a dummy when it comes to technology (at least compared to most of you!).
Cheap or free are a must, as my initial application for this software would be on a nonprofit organization's web site I would be Hosting.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

thanks everyone for your advice. I may be back to bug you again if I have trouble setting it up!
I have tried both phpBB and InvisionBoard. And all I have to say is Invision is 100x better.

phpbb is great. bug free. easy to install.
and phpbb 2.2 should be near. looks real good.
i'm looking for resume related domains please pm me.
The Admin CP has many many more options. The Mods and Mod CP are better. The hacks are easy to install, and there are plenty of them. Very easy installation if you follow the instructions they have.Originally posted by FrontRow

The layout of the board is nicer. Many skins. Nicer smilies.
I basically can list most everything. Just from personal experiance, I like Invision way better. I cannot think of one thing that is better about phpBB.

php is very easy to install - as is invision
out of the two invision is miles better
though if youve got the cash id reccomend geting vbulletin
p.s ive installed about 6 or 7 different kinds of forums - in general there all fairly simple to install. But if your having problems or whatever, drop me an email and ill sort it out for you![]()
I do own over 10 vB licences - but prefer to use phpBB on my own sites.
