Does anyone know of some tools, courses, training, etc I can use to teach me how from start to finish, including setting up the camera, connections, editing, transferring the video to the pc and to the web, etc., so I can eventually become expert at it?
Most camcorders come with a hookup to transfer the videos from the camera to the computer (you may need to purchase a different cable - like a firewire cable). They may also come with basic editing software (but if you want something good - Adobe Premier Elements is really god, you can get it w/ Photoshop Elements for about $150).
Edit: I have two - one a Mini-DV which required the firewire plus it needs the SW to "convert" it into the digital format. The other is a Flip which is great - I just plug it into the USB port and copy the files over.
