How do i switch my index?
On my site
www.mameforum.com
The index is the main page of the forum........then i have a /portal.php page that i want to actually be the landing page.
how can i make that happen?

You can use redirection to send anyone arriving at the root to go to mameforum.com/portal.php If you're using a cpanel host, you can find that option on your screen, and I'm sure other hosts have something similar as well.
