How to link IDN domain with another provider with 1and1's server

i currently have 1 and 1 Hosting account

and i want to register idn domain name for my site

how would i be able to use the space i have with 1 and 1 and

link my idn domain name to my ftp?

for example with 1 and 1 right now destination can be set to existing path

in the ftp space but how would i do that with domain from another provider?

I've never done it that way but with most Hosting accounts:

First, point the domain's DNS to the host from your regsitrar. You may need to get the hosting nameservers from 1&1.

Then you go the hosting company (1&1) and set up the domain - don't transfer it, just set it up as a hosed domain.

Next, point it to a folder in your directory (or make a new one just for that domain).

Upload your site to the new folder and when the DNS kicks in you're all set.
