hyphenated .com vs. .org for development

    hi all,

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before.

i'm considering a certain domain for development and the KeywordKeyword.com is taken (only parked)

What's your opinion on whether to develop on Keyword-Keyword.com, or on KeywordKeyword.org ... ?

does it make a difference from an SEO perspective? if you have any other thoughts i would love to hear. Thanks!

I prefer the .org in your situation. P.S. You may be surprised the org can also get typeins depending on the name.

If your website fits well with a .org domain, it is a good option.

However if it is a store (for example), I'll go for the hyphen .com
I have a few hyphenated sites which do as well from seo point of view,
    as well as user recognitions.

.org domains revenue generation in many biz models are far less as to a decent .com models.

.com (hyphenated) i will rate a marginal higher then the .org for commercial business purpose.

COM, NET and ORG tlds/extn are equally good for SEO (except direct traffic - .com leads) point of view.
Buying your expiring .net.in, .co.in, .in cctld. OFFER NOW . Bought 65+ domains already!
PS: I am not accessing DNF too frequent since Oct'09 and may not be too frequent till Mar'10.

I have two examples that have worked well. The first is apple-pie.com (really wouldn't work with a .org) and the other is isotope.org (probably the best extension for the topic). It all depends on your market. From what I've gathered, Google doesn't seem to care about the dash. A-B-C has just as many results as ABC.
My offers are void after 48 hours unless I've stated otherwise.
