if you are a novice designer and can't afford to pay a pro or cant afford or figure out photoshop, I'd go with something simple like logocreator software ... Check it out http://www.qksrv.net/click-393050-8352509 The Logo Creator ...
These guys make a cool ebook and software box creator software too for you guys selling ebooks
Check out Logo.com for Business Logo Design and other design services
Thanks, I do have photoshop 6.0.
hey crazy eddie (coincidentally the nick name of my friend from my last job)
as i told ed30 yesterday adobe now have a snazzy little product out called photoshop elements which is a cut-down version of photoshop 7. it costs $100 or so on amazon.com so may be worth a look... adobe also have a trial version available from their website www.adobe.com

i use ms paint![]()
my blog: randombrandon.com
http://www.brandonadamson.com
yeah
id definately go with photoshop
the best by far
I use the following:
Paint Shop Pro
Xara X
Corel Draw Essentials
Fireworks
FreeHand
1000's of fonts.
Might give Adobe Illustrator a try.
Btw - i also have TheLogoCreator software and although it's a nice idea the problem is your logos will always look like other peoples logos because of the same premade templates that everyone is using.
I would not even think about selling logos made with TLC.
Therefore i do my logos from scratch.

We use Adobe Illustrator
Photoshop 6 and Fireworks
Both great except Adobe programs seem to take a sh*tload of memory when you're using them. Maybe it's just me.![]()
If you aren't the creative type, don't have time, or just want someone else to do it, I found a very reasably priced service called gotlogos.com that only charges $25 for a web logo.
My Brother owns 1800mylogo.com
A absolute great BIZ...

BTW, Wordart built into MS Word or FrontPage isn't bad for a quick logo. You just have to paste it into a paint program to save as a gif or jpeg.
I used it in creating the logos at Diveflag.com and UWphotographer.com
Not for the pros, but probably something everyone already has.
If you want Photoshop tuts... Have a look here:

Thanks for input and tuts.
In reference to 'dataware' mentioning 1800mylogo.com
We've worked with a couple of companies who used them - they were very pleased with the results.
Photoshop 6 gets my vote - amazing program
Or even, Photoshop 7![]()
