    Making money with traffic?

I know alot of you on here have sites that you have developed to make money with. I normally make money designing websites for clients and Hosting them.
This past week I started my own project and have alot of traffic already. I am not listed with all the search engines yet and have 1300 hits my first week!
Maybe this is small potatos to you guys, but this site will continue to grow. It is starting to eat up bandwidth and I need to make some money to cover the expenses.
I have repeat traffic and people stay in my forums.
I noticed that you all buy high traffic domains and I know you want them for either advertising revenue, or affilliate programs?
What is working for you? I need an affilliate program or some ideas. I have been to the affilliate programs, but I want professional opinions and that is why I am asking you!
    Help???

The key is finding affiliate content that is relevant to your site demographics. For example, if you have a forum about music, find affiliate programs that you think your visitors would be interested in like CD stores, entertainment stuff, etc.

CJ.com is a good place to find a lot of different advertisers.
PaleoDirectory.com - Paleo, Primal, and alternative health, fitness and diet resources.

I think your Hosting company is giving you the run around if 1500 hits a week is eating up bandwidth.

Amazing, how did you get 1300 hits first week if a new site and not in the SE's? Is it an extremely good type-in name?

Also, 1300 is far from being 'small potatos' (*Dan Quayle - is that spelled right?). Not too many sites have that much traffic. BTW, It's BS that this amount of traffic is eating up much bandwidth.

I didn't mean to say that it IS eating up too much bandwidth. I am concerned that at this rate I will use up more than my alloted bandwidth.
It is a forum so I am sure that all 1300 hits are not uniques, but return visitors. It is a forum I am running. Word of mouth advertising and two other people spreading the name out for me. It is a pretty good type in, but it is a .net.
Since last Saturday, I have 1300+ hits, 105 posts, and almost 20 registered users. This week I expect it to double in size.
I was looking for an affilliate program to use to cover my costs of the site so that I can use Google's adwords.
I may just come up with my own line of tshirst or maybe go "old school" and ask for donations.
I would just like some suggestions thats all.
    Thanx!

What is the website? Maybe we can provide some usefull programs if we know what content to correlate with the website.

Even if you don't want to tell the name of the site - at least tell the type of content or subject matter. That way we can start to steer you in the right direction for an affiliate program.

Sorry, It took so long to respond...

Could explain the rush of traffic from word of mouth advertising at work. I had someone tell me about the site there yesterday!

Also, does anyone know of any legal issues for site owners that have forums? I am worrying about slander.
