    Multiplayer Game-Site Development

Is there anyone familiar with multip-player game site development?

I am interested in getting information concerning setting up a multi-player game environment.

Games should include the standard like:
    Backgammon, Chess, Checkers, Othello, etc.

I found that there is a Backgammon called Fibs, and other servers, most of which use client software.

I am interested in something, where there are no download-able software, all the games are played online.

I am also interested in game rooms, with on-line chat etc.

I found something called Electro-Server, which apparently fills this purpose.

I am very not knowledgable about these topics, and would like to get some detailed info, if anyone can help.

Please assume that I know nothing, since I would like as much info, from the very basics.

You would really need a programmer to create these games, since you do not want it downloaded you would most likely be having it developed in flash.

My advice would be to go with companys that specialize in this type of setup to ensure they are functional, bug free and secure. Here in the UK many of the gambling sites all use similar services such as virtuefusion for bingo, etc.

You coud also try to get an arcade script and modify it. There are probably plenty of cards games available for arcade scripts. If you want a unique one then I would also try to hire someone to do it.

The online bingo market matches your spec

"I am interested in something, where there are no download-able software, all the games are played online. I am also interested in game rooms, with on-line chat etc."

the baisc business model is that you license the software and pay a fee in return. The fee is usually a cut of net revenue (ie how much your players lose). Depending on the supplier you went with, you would also get Hosting, customer support, banking and bandwidth included. You just do the marketing.

If you want to go down the softgaming route, there are a number of places where you can get 'white label' scripts for free. See http://www.gamecolony.com/affiliates.shtml#2A or http://www.mygamescript.com/.

Hey guys, thanks for posting. I almost gave up on this post.

I actually didn't think of this, but I'm open to some ideas. This actually sounds like an interesting idea. Could you provide me with some providers?
