my sites were hacked & facebook taken over..

This kid took over my facebook, hacked my sites and I can't seem to win. He told me he re routed his IP and changed his DNS to get control over my Facebook. He said he installed a bot. How can I have better security? What to do what to do..??

How can I prevent from this happening again?

Get a freaking internet security suite with internet firewall, real-time protection, anti-virus, anti-software package. It is the year 2009, don't tell me you haven't installed one yet!

Sorry I don't understand how he did this. He took over your web-sites? Change you passwords, usernames, etc. Check all the files, and upload from another computer.

Sites are backed up, Fusedhosting is helping me. What's a keylogger? The kid said that he had to re route his IP and change his DNS and I was lost. He wants all my domains and a 1100 dollars western union'ed to him and he'll let me have my stuff back

Format your computer then install the Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, configure it to update it automatically and don´t open any wired email or receive any file that you don´t really know what it is. Don´t download anything that you see over the net.

oh and install an anti-spyware (spybot search & Destroy it´s free)

Do you have the same passwords for everything?
Once a turkish hacker hacked my database. I had the same password for everything so all my other sites got hacked.
He didn't know I had any other sites (forums, facebook,etc) but if he did he would of hacked it also.

Don't have the same password for everything. I still use that but I'm lazy and I'm forgetful.

It might not been a keylogger alot of scripts has flaws in them and people can view the password. If you got the same password for everything you could of gotten hacked for every site you been to.

Say OK, and get his name and info on where the money is to go, then try to contact police in HIS area about the crime and see where it goes.

I told him why did he want all my crappy domains? Then I got postal on him, I found out where he was and stuff. He threw out like 4 different names. I reported it to Facebook that he took over my account. They gave it back to me a few hours ago, but not before he deleted all my friends because I was threatening to call the police on him.

My sites are not back, but at least some progress was made.

Darn... you could have sounded all scared, but say you need to cut him a check, so he has to give you the correct name. Kids are dumb enough to fall for that.

Where was he from, and what IP did he use?
