I use my own nameserver for all my domain.

It never hurts to have another DNS server on hand ... for my sites I have DNS Made Easy as a backup and would also recommend Ultra DNS. It's not so hard to move domains, just change where DNS points at the registrar (and wait.)

Last week I month I moved 570 domains from Network Solutions to NetNames in 15 hours, it really just depends on the time to live and related settings. A few clients actually serve DNS out of multiple providers to protect from DOS.
