Need to develop a country domain

I just hand regged an exact match country .net which receives 6,600 exact monthly searches. The searches seem to indicate travel intent so I think there is some potential. Does anyone have any experience developing this type of website? I'd love to see some of your sites and would greatly appreciate any tips.

    Thanks!

    Hi, Shane.

A couple of thoughts immediately came to mind. If you just handregged an exact match country geo name, then it is not a major geo and a lesser known country, perhaps rather obscure. The reason I say this is because most (if not all) country names are heavily coveted by domainers in general (let alone those specializing in geo names).

So, rather than viewing this as a travel site it may be more advisable to take the time and study the makeup of your country and explore its natural resources, industry sectors, and so on.

I wish you well because perhaps you did find a diamond in the rough.

    Gerry,

It definitely is a rather obscure location but none the less it is arguably one of the most beautiful places in the world. I would imagine even if 1/2 of a percent of those searchers were to book through me it'd be worth while. Plus there is potential to monetize in the form of travel guides or with similar digital products. Am I blinded by greed or being realistic? Appreciate your response.

Dude, if you snagged a country as a dot net, you are being very realistic (and lucky!). These scream develop, develop, develop.

I look froward to seeing this done.

Thanks! This is exactly what I needed to motivate me. Have you done any location sites before? I'd love to see some examples.

So I've found Priceline on CJ.com but was wondering if there was a better option. I'd like to allow users to book flights and hotels through my site. Is there an easy way to do this? Does anyone have any experience? There is also interest in special tours which I think I can setup a local affiliate deal for. Would appreciate all and any input.
