Re: need feedback

Really great original design.

Consider a directory on the front page.

It will increase the volume of searches by 300% plus (people a very lazy and dont like typing)

Make it easy for them and try to direct them to where you want them to go.

Regards

Do many of us really care that much about firefox, what is it? Never even heard of it before.

On IE6 it looks great, is centered horizontally, clean look, sharp colors, no blur at all, and works well.

Yes, consider centering it more vertically toward page middle or somewhat above middle perhaps by putting some more space between the logo and search box but still keeping logo at top.

P.S. Good job Darren. Are you still using Searchfeed like in that search engine you sold me some time ago, which mysteriously stopped working in Oct but not your fault, something involving my server I believe?

Never heard of Firefox? Mozilla Firefox? I suggest you to look it up - its great.
Anyway, I dont fancy using IE and neither should (IMO) any web savvy user. But thats not the point, guy asked for a feedback and thats what I gave him. Its up to him to decide whether its important to him.. I Dont want to sound like Im arguing here, so its all good Trader

Sorry, I was also not arguing and maybe should not have said that about Firefox.

The reason I say that is if you have some websites where you have public contact it's best to be using the same setup and browser most of them are using (XP, IE6, etc), so when you get normal complaints about some kind of problem with your website and the way it looks or acts, including your forms, it's best to be using the same stuff your visitor is using.

Then you can see what they see. I recall calling a large PC firm tech supt where the technician was NOT running Windows XP as I was (he had Win 98) and that was causing him to see different screens and he ended up giving wrong instructions on what to do when navigating the menus vs. what I was seeing and resulted in very poor tech supt.

P.S. I heard of Mozilla but not Firefox, always thought Mozilla was a Netscape browser, I may be wrong? Since MS dominates the market I really do not follow 2nd tier programs or browsers, but I did run Netscape many yrs ago when they still had a good market share. They were actually way ahead of IE at one time with MS IE far behind but everything changed when Microsoft started giving the programs away free.

I think you'll find that firefox's popularity is on the up and up, especially amongst the more technically savvy users (us!). I would be very surprised if by next year people won't be saying the oposite, "What, you've never heard of firefox!?"
