I didn't want to go to the trouble of doing it myself. There are some sites that offer invisible counters but they charge mega $$$
Anyone know of any other alternatives? Thk![]()

are you looking for full-featured stats with unique visitors, etc , or just a simple page counter to count the number of hits the page gets?
Just a simple page counter to count the number of hits the page gets is all I need. Beggars can't be choosy as they say. A full-featured counter/stats with unique visitors and more would be GREAT but I doubt there are any freebies for that around. Thanks for your help![]()

Not quite invisible, but somewhat hidden. If you sign up with http://extremetracking.com, and then change the width/height of the image to 1x1, then put it after your copyright notice or something similar, it will look like a period ending a sentence.

Bravenet used to have a counter code that you could modify to become invisible.
Re: Whois-Search:
Webalizer works great. However, before you go through all the work of installing it (it's a pain if you've never installed a script before), you might want to ask your host if your site comes with any tracking programs/log file analysis. (or you could visit their website)http://www.mrunix.net/webalizer/
I've dealt with four hosts over the past few years, and every single one has offered some sort of tracking program where we can monitor visits.
If your Hosting comes with a Plesk or CPanel control panel, you most likely have Webalizer installed on your website. Many other hosts set up every account with some sort of open-source log analysis program.
