i'd love to help you develop it too. Could be fun.

Need suggestions for development of Parasite.com. Also, what do you think of the ideas that follow?
Thanks,
Ed
Option1:
The obvious, and my first thought, was to develop an informational site about parasites in humans and animals.
Monetization
AdSense
Affiliate sales (books, body cleansing, etc.)
Pros
This is probably what most people are searching for when they use direct navigation.
Cons
Other than AdSense, probably very limited choice of affiliate programs
Are a lot of people interested in this type of stuff?
Option2:
An informational site dedicated to Internet/computer security.
Can be expanded to include scams and identity theft.
Monetization
AdSense
Affiliate sales
Pros
Computer security / Internet scams / Identity theft are always in the news Cons
This is not what people expect when they use direct navigation, so branding would be required.
Probably limited interest in such type of site.
Option3:
A blog / news site about famous and "useless people" (Paris Hilton is a good example).
Could also include funny news stories about anti-social behavior.
A milder version of Rotten.com.
Monetization
AdSense
Pros
With proper marketing, this type of site could generate significant traffic.
Cons
This is not what people expect when they use direct navigation, so branding would be required.
Limited monetization options.
Probably high development cost.
Potential for a lawsuit from profiled individual(s).
Time consuming - site would need to be updated daily with new stories.
Difficulty in obtaining new material on a daily basis.
Probably there are legal issues to consider in reposting news from other sites.
Option4:
Humor, jokes and funny pictures, with emphasis on user supplied content.
Monetization
AdSense
Pros
Don't see any
Cons
This is not what people expect when they use direct navigation, so branding would be required.
Limited monetization options.
A lot of competition.
Very time consuming - a lot of daily updates would be required
Probably high development cost.
Option5:
Some kind of a social (or anti-social) network.
Monetization
AdSense
Pros
Out of all the options, could offer the biggest payback if succeeded.
Cons
This is not what people expect when they use direct navigation, so MAJOR branding would be required.
Limited monetization options.
Of all the options, this would require the most work and outlay of money to develop and market.
Social sites like Facebook could be a fad

Check out this slick wordpress plug-in
We also operate an affordable cleveland ohio web design company.
An example why not every dictionary word is marketable.
Take a look at AffiliateFairPlay.com
Option 2 is what I think when I hear "Parasite" .
I think of affiliate programs and how cookies get overwritten, people do drive by installs, redirects, you get the idea.
Might even want to ask Kellie (aka Ms.B) who, back in 2000 I think, started tracking the underworld of Online Marketing, specially Affiliate Marketing, cookie stuffing, Hijacking sales, pop-ups triggered at POS to steal sales, key-loggers and you know the list of crap you can get on a PC.
Fantastic name, btw.
Agree.
It's not easy to market because it doesn't describe a product or a service that's in high demand, but it does get traffic. Mostly, those who are interested in getting rid of worms and body cleansing (not a very "sexy" niche!).
I also feel, with some imagination and planning, this domain can be branded... It's memorable, catchy, easy to remember and, like you said, it's a dictionary word.
Actually, a good business idea is more important than a domain name (look at Google, Yahoo, YouTube and countless other good businesses with meaningless domains). But if you can bring together an idea and a catchy name, branding becomes easier...

thanks, cursal
sure no prob
Anybody else notice that THIS POST here at dnf is # 6 in that search that I just posted.
Google grabbed that quick!
option 2
It's a lot of work, but I could imagine Option 3 as being quite successful... sort of a dark version of Perez Hilton. Good luck!
This is probably my favorite option...
Technically, it should not be difficult to set up. It would be a blog, like Perez Hilton or Gizmodo.
The difficult part is gathering the news, stories and pictures. I mean, I can't just repost from other sites without being a "parasite" myself.
Besides, even if it was legal, what would set my site apart?
If I could "solve" news gathering problem, I would deffinitely try this...
Option2 is not really an option because there is a site called "ParasiteWare.com" and I believe they have a trademark on the name. The trademark would apply only if I competed with them and used a similar name.
Option1 appears to be the easiest, but it's not the direction I want to take this to...
Make a site about parasitic parents of stars that bleed their children's bank accounts dry.
There may not be money in it but I would like to know what these wacky parents spend their kid's money on.
BobGuzzo.comdomains.
did you ever think of building a Para site instead, ie. ParaSite.com?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Para
just another idea, may or may not be worth it...
DomainAnimal.com
Patience is a virtue
Social network is where the money is. I'd go there with the name.
With Paris Hilton being such a big media draw and also the number of searches on her name, this coul make a great celeb blog, like Perez Hilton. Could be awesome as that. More people want to trash a celebs then read about worms, yuck! Good luck!
my first thought was that's a site about para phenomenal stuff.
I'd look for a different domain thou.
RLTT.com is for SALE Realtime Technologies is the way to go !
... anti virus/spyware?
I'd suggest something like BangedUp.com if you can stomach it, I can't.
