Need opinion's on a couple of ideas...

Hi,

First thing i will tell you is i'm very new to this

I have just started to develop a game related domain.

I bought an arcade script to use for the site, I have only tweaked the sight slightly, changing of description, adding banners and adsense etc.

I have added META tags, im pretty sure these have been done correctly (followed a simple online tutorial )

I had the following two ideas:

1, To add a forum to the website (a general gaming/gamers forum)

2, The games are all flash games, so there is little text content. I was thinking of adding a page that listed every game on the site, with a small description of the game, and maybe a direct link to the game.

I would like any opinions on these ideas, specifically why you think they are good or bad, or pointless

Also any other suggestions to help build traffic and SEO would be appreciated.

umm i would say people who like to play games just come to play games ..not many would be intrested in forums and discussion about games

I have what i think is a good generic game domain, so my idea was it develop it.

I thought by having games on there and a forum would just be a bonus; people who came to play games could so, but there would also be a forum if they wanted to take part, and people who were interested in the forum could also play games...

I also thought this might bring a little extra traffic - two interests into one website, compared one website for games and one for a forum

Adding a forum is always a good idea, it will give the users the possibility to express their opinion and talk about the site/games or ask help.

I would agree...a forum is a good way for your users to brag about their scores and how good they are, and also give you feedback on how you can improve your site, i.e. see what games are not available but is popular among your users.
It also adds another way to push your CPM and Adsense/YPN ads.
