Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!Hi- I am in pre-production on a myspace/youtube site - yeah I know... me too! But in reality I had the idea for it 10 years ago and knew it would be the future but did not have 200K to pay a team of coders so I am kind of coming late to the party. Good news is, now due to myspace's and youtube's success theres a lot of off the shelf stuff around and I am looking for a platform to use.
Please dont tell me to google the keywords: myspace clone... because I have been heavilly researching this for a long, long time and handshakes, alstrasoft etc suck bad from what I hear.
I am looking for something more upscale than that- possibly a white label solution. Just wondering if anyone knew of anything that would not cost me too much. Maybe $1,000 to start with some kind of rev-share situation. Would have to have the networking capabilities of myspace with the video capabilities of youtube so kind of a tall order for that much I know but if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.
Thanks-

I've been creating professional templates for Jamroom.net software for the past 3 years, I recently released the ProJam range which offer a huge amount of facilities for music/video/image and community based projects:
High-end ProJam templates, here are some examples:
http://projamlight.oinkba.com
http://projamdark.oinkba.com
They are easy to customize from one CSS file and include step by step instructions for branding and installation. You'll require http://Jamroom.net v3.1 software installed on your server with the minimum requirements which works out at around $200 with unlimited user license.
All templates can be purchased and downloaded instantly:

If you need more info contact me "Huw Williams" from the Oinkba site.
Hope this helps.
I Will Buy/Swap Your Traffic Domains - Type-In & Typos (no adult) - contact me -> ASAP!
there is always Dolphin 6.0
This comes very close to what you are looking for and you can always hire someone to customize this free script to your exact needs.
......
have you looked at ning.com?
I have used ning. It does support youtube video. Good containers and the social networking is already there AND open to current networks.
my exploratory site is at
http://www.Cinepals.com
We've used phpizabi with good results.
The bad news is that the respective owners of phpizabi.com and phpizabi.net have fallen out and are more or less at war with each other. jeff at phpizabi.com is very reliable.
this conflict is unsettling of course, but it indicates that the software is popular and successful.
Also, there is a polish firm which designed wayn.com, you might want to contact them if you have a large budget, I don't have their details at the moment.
I like the look of this.
Has anyone tried it.
I mentioned it to my mate who's gonna develop a site for me and he says its not great.
Interested to hear anyone elses experience?
also, was the buying process, installing etc, easy?
Look forward to hearing some reviews and/oer about any other social networking style sites.
Thanks for all your responses guys (and girl)
I have not tried Ning, but the problem with them is that you are just another site in thier network so there is no uniqueness factor. I tried Dolphin a while ago and it was fraught with bugs although I think maybe there is a new version out. Same with PHPizabi- lots of bugs... although, for a free platform those are probably 2 of the better ones if anyone wanted a firsthand user experience opinion of them.
