Smile thanks

I want to thank everyone that posted and shared advice on this thread! I really appreciate it and I am willing to try anything. I am passionate about domaining and developing..no matter what the topic. I'm also into being healthy and working out and making that a life style change..something I'm working on right now, thought I could share my progress/journey with the site's users as well. Considering I haven't developed one site yet, I think this would be a good one.

However I do need a revenue generator to start paying for my domains, I have about 180 total and the majority of them are geo+industry.com's...that def need development.

I have very limited knowledge on website development...would joomla and nuke be something that I could easily figure out? How could I give it a magazine look and feel? thats sounds incredible!

Best,
Jacob

If you have very limited knowledge on website development as you said...
Stay away from Joomla. Joomla is very powerful, but, steep learning curve.
Here is one using Joomla.
Took many many hours to install, configure and install extensions.
My interest stopped for now and will get back to it later.

If you plan to develop many domains, not just few large ones, use Wordpress.
You can start immediately with wordpress since it's very easy to use.
Here is one site I just started using wordpress.
Done in few hours using free template.

What I would do if this were my domain is create a content rich site that search engines would eat up, with a lot of strategic sponsor placement of ppc, rev share and product referrals. Gear your articles and blog towards your sponsors and link to the sponsors from the articles. You can find content writers for very inexpensively via GetAFreelancer or here DNForum, I use UN: myst woman from DNForum. Get them to write a handful of original 150 - 250 word cliff hanger articles for you and you add them the the site to keep the content fresh and updated, as well lean on some automated rss feeds of sorts to fill in the blank spots of the site, preferred monetized rss feed if you can find it for this niche.

Build it up with traffic and 1 way links in 1 years time you can flip it for a very profitable amount, or you may decide not to cause you have good revenue coming in from monetizing it with sponsors and products.

Little tangent guys, sorry. Dont know if you have noticed and I cant think of the examples off the top of my head at the moment. Lately on TV commercials I have noticed a increasing number of branded companies with branded websites are acquiring domains names that are catchy for national multi media advertisement campaigns.

I can envision a large company like "Kraft" purchasing a domain name like this "HealthyFoodSecrets.com" because it has traffic and has a memorable ring that you will remember whether it is in print ad, radio jingle or tv comercial.

It's probably not as good as your idea, I thought of this half baked idea in a matter of 75 seconds +/- a second.

From the hip thats what I got, what do you think, am I a little out there for you.....lol!
No, you are not "out there" at all. I actually really appreciate the time you took to share your two cents. I wanted to let everyone know that I have started development on the domain after the great response I received from this thread. I will be adding more to the site as it develops.

By the way, Joomla is unbelievable and I highly recommend it. I'm adding ad sense, affiliates, blog, forum, testimonials, personal trainer, and Ebook..Now I need to finish working on the site and get on the SEO. If you guys have any thoughts on what I'm adding feel free to let me know.

I have never used joomla, is it user friendly, or do you have to be a rocket scientist to use it?

Joomla blew me away with its control panel. Its all icons...you simply point and click. I had a business associate custom build me a template and I uploaded it to Joomla. From there its all point, click, type content, install extensions for blogs and what not. Not sure what SEF is. I am very new to joomla...haha first day. But have made a lot of progress. If I knew it was this easy before I would have been on this months ago!

so what is SEF anyways.......? Thanks for the heads up on Joomla.
i have my server cluster configured with Hsphere control panel and I have unlimited scripts more or less of all the bigger scripts http://www.psoft.net/HSdocumentation/easyapp/?v=2.08 including Joomla, all I use is SMF and WordPress. I will start to experiment with Joomla now that it may not be so itimedating.

Maybe you guys see some other apps I should be taking advantage of, tootliage appreciated!

To be honest I am brand new to development and do not know a thing about servers or other apps. At the pace that I'm going I will soon though. I will share info as I learn.

You can find all you need for Joomla here.
Just typein SEF in search box.

SEF - Search engine friendly url.
Joomla url is like...
domain/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=b log&id=5&Itemid=50

After SEF plugin, it could look like...
domain/news/sef-is-great-for-se.html
