    Question Paypal integration question

We need to setup a site that sends out a password automatically as soon as someone pays for an item with PayPal. Has anyone else out there setup something like this? How did you do it?

We're planning to use PHP on our end. Any suggestions?

    Re: Paypal integration question

just to clarify.... are you saying one buys something, goes to cart and checks out. uses paypal to pay then they go back to site and you have sent them an email with the password to access the download?

is the password going to be unique per product or are you going to have one/same password for same product or type of products?

    Re: Paypal integration question

That's pretty much how we expect it to work. Never done it before so we're still working out the details. The password has to be unique for each person. We were planning to use a hash of the user's Registration name and some other info. Thanks for the help!

Not that I suggest using paypal, but why not just use their PIN system? It can be set up to do exactly what you're looking for.

    Re: Paypal integration question

I think you mean IPN system. It sends email AND hits a URL on your site with the details. With that you can do all kinds of things with the data... send email, update database, or whatever. I do it in ASP so can't directly help you.
