Paypal Pro help needed recurring charges

    Hello
I need to use paypal pro to take recurring charges (monthly with trial)
Its a better signup process from what I can tell and the user does not need to take all the steps to signup for a paypal account. Thus reducing the risk of them not buying.

I need a cart or script that will take recurring charges.

paypal has these carts, but what would i use? Anyone have anything already on hand?

I have spent the last couple of months researching this very thing for a new venture I am about to launch. I am not a programmer, so I have been muddling through setting up and testing carts, payment systems, account managers, etc. It has been a real experience.

What I have settled on is this:

I decided against Paypal Pro, because with the recurring billing functionality it is actually more expensive ($60/month plus transaction fees) than most regular merchant accounts. I went with USAePay ($99 setup & about $35/month plus around 2.5% transaction fees)

For both an account manager and shopping cart, I went with WHMCS. It is not only the most impressive piece of software I found to manage both functions, but it was free with my Hostgator Hosting account. It is actually designed for web hosting billing, but it can be used for other things as well.

One of its major strengths over most other carts is that since it is designed with billing for web hosting in mind, it has the recurring billing feature down beautifully. Even with a merchant account that does not support recurring billing, WHMCS looks like it will store the information and submit it on a recurring basis for you.

One other plus is that it has a vibrant support forum with lots of users.
