Question php question

I'm trying to add a php chat feature to my website, however all the files are .php3 (I've previously only used .php)...for some reason my server seems to only want to recognize .php3 as being a text file and not a php file- any idea on how I can fix this?

Thanks!

Re: php question

Try adding this:

AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php

to .htaccess

in your root directory

Re: php question

Re: php question

Try adding this to your .htaccess file:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php3

I think that should work.

Re: php question

Ok, tried that and it gave me a different problem...when I went to load the chat page, it wanted to save the .php3 files for that page to my computer but then still read them as text files instead of executable files. Am I not adding the line correctly into my .htaccess file?
