PayPal has been good to me. I have heard the horror stories about peoples accounts which have been frozed. I now try to spend/withdraw my PayPal funds as soon as possible, just incase.

PayPal does not work for me - but my wife and friends like it. There is however an anti-PayPal forum, but I forgot it's URL - anyone got it handy?

I've been using PayPal since they had merged with X.com. I never had a problem with them. I like their services and they continue to improve.

Many growing businesses have their share of problems, especially merchants' services. In quite a few cases, it's their clients' who are causing their own problems, usually from stupidity, thus ignorant accusations and blowing things out of proportion - but also can be stupidity of an employee of the accused company. It's not uncommon for a company to have one or a few stupid people in their employ. Also, I've heard that some people putting up anti-whatever sites may even be competitors, incognito. There are plenty of anti-PayPal sites as there are anti-AOL and anti-thisandthat sites, etc.

PayPal must have way more happy campers than Not, as they are still going and growing strong and have been around for quite some time.

sleazy, that is normal.

If you get a fraudulent payment, you're not supposed to get you're money "back". Thats why its called a "charge-back". You will lose the money in the transaction, plus the charge-back fee.

That is the standard with ANY payment service, merchant account, or not.

Thats not standard, they should offer some sort of protection for their customers who receive fraudulant payments and ship there products out. They claim they do, but ive had at least 3 were I've lost out completely. Ive had multiple chargebacks where ive sent to verified addresses and got screwed with no return from paypal. They even tell you to wait 30 days, wait 30 days more, etc thats all the response I got from them. They even admit to hiding their customer support numbers and everything. I think they have to be one of the worst online payment companies support and standards wise.

I prefer to use the online services that are backed by gold now because they don't charge back and people are fully protected.

btw, check out E-Gold

Yes, but no serious business person would use paypal, they would use authorize.net.

Paypal is a peer to peer payment system...for auction payments and very very small businesses.

For anyone to take your business seriously, and for the sake of excellent fraud screening, use authorize.net in combination with a merchant account.

paypalsuck.com - find the truth...
One of situations:
Mr. X paid to mr. Y with stolen money
Mr X is dishonest
Mr Y is honest
Now, mr Y paid YOU. You are both honest with mr Y.
Later, paypal starts an investigation on stolen CC (stolen money).
they froze mr. X's account, mr Y's account and YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE FROZEN AS WELL

Just try and screen the folks you deal with before you Paypal with them.
Paypal has its limitations but when it works it works like a gem.
I use EBAY feedback to screen my paypal transcations. If I see negative feedback I stay away

ALso ehre is another trick
My paypal emailaddress differs from my public address-- not to tempt hackers.

WHAT I HATe about PAYPAL is the steep fees.
They should have a scale of declining fees as you bring in more business or dep. on the amount and method of payment. The free personal account is a JOKE cause as soon as a customer sends a cc payment you are forced to upgrade and be shafted with fees.

I like paypal even though they froze two of my accounts. After 6 months, they send back all the money in those accounts. PM if you need any thing else
