Question on blogger.com

I just set up a free site hosted with blogger.com. My posts show up on the front page and then there is a link on the title to take me to a separate page with the same article. Could this get you a duplicate content penalty with google? Is it best to change it so that only a few paragraphs show up on the front page about the article? Is it best for me to create my own site on my own domain name?

What are you trying to achieve? Blogger does not offer the option of displaying a portion of the post's content on the main page. Wordpress does.

My objective is to get the most amount of traffic to my blog by creating niche specific articles and ultimately have visitors click on affiliate ads.

So do you have two separate blogs, one domain-based and want to mirror/replicate articles on Blogger to increase traffic?

Hey,
Just one blog on blogspot.com, right now. I was trying to see if I could make money on there without having a site hosted myself.

In theory, you can - given time. It depends on what you blog about, the amount of traffic that you get and the ability to spawn interest in your readers to click on relevant ads.
