ive saw this site before actually but i find that a lot of the information on that site is misleading

for example : . The most important search engine, Google, updates on a 4 week cycle, and it usually takes 2-3 cycles to get in.

Im not sure where hes getting this from - every site ive ever submitted has been in the next update

the problem with a lot of sites like these is that they are rarely kept up to date with market changes etc - webmasterworld.com and jimsworld are the best places for seo in my opinion

submission

I have never submitted one of my sites to any search engine. All you need to do is exchange links with other sites and your site will usually get indexed very quickly.

Well with Google anyways..

I Need links for Conventioncenters.US .. just being indexed by Google.. getting close to 200 uniques a day already..

have anything sites you want to trade a link for ?

It will have PR in a few days.. not sure how much though . I am assuming it will enter with a PR 3..maybe 4

BTW,... yep, I have also read his article before.. for the most part good basic advise...

I still beleive you have to be careful with automated submissions.

Not really. It usually takes just a few days to get in. I do it for my clients all the time.

this site accepts links to be added to their directory:
www.2chambers.com

their content:

Find both state and local U.S. Chambers of Commerce, Convention Centers, Visitor Bureaus and Tourist Boards in the United States providing U.S. business, relocation, visitor and tourist attraction information. On the United States map, or the links below, click on the U.S. state you want to travel to.

i will post below, the cut and paste that Robert sent me by email regarding the google issue. Again, I commend him on offering free help for seo on his site..

Robert writes:

I am conservative about how fast sites get into google because, while
most people get added in the next cycle, I have seen sites take 2 or
even 3 cycles to get in. Google is getting a bit better about this,
though I wonder what will happen this summer (for some reason, summer
is the season when search engines get flaky...).

Bottom line, if I say 1 cycle, and someone misses out on the deadline
for additions before the next cycle update, I get "why didn't I get
into google" emails. If I say 2-3, then if you get in in one, you're
happy.

Unsolicited testimonial

I have used selfpromotion.com for a long time and it is absolutely awesome!
When I put together chimineasinc.com I only used selfpromotion for my search engine submissions and followed his Yahoo listing tips and within less than 2 months I was #1 at Yahoo, MSN, AOL, etc, etc, etc,...
Yahoo has 3800 returns for "chimineas' and 2 years later I have never fallen from the #1 position in Yahoo or Google.
