One thing I like about SHTML is how you can bring in other files into it. It really saves time when working with the menu. Mainly my question is, do you notice many problems with your server if you have a lot of SHTML pages?.

RMF,
shtml is a way to include separate files into one, however ensure that your hosts server is set up to parse shtml files as standard.
One other effect is that if the server you host your site is slow then this could effect the speed at which your pages resolve.
HAving said this check out this page for a site I am working on to show you shtml in action.

i havent had any problems using shtml
i dont use many shtml commands though apart from the server side includes - your site should be ok

You know what? I AM in the process of rewriting ALL my files at e.g. nameslave.com with PHP basically for saving time with the menu. So instead of SSI (server side includes), you simply use PHP include tags (e.g. <?PHP include('menu.inc'); ?>) embedded in your HTML; then you can call for those file (ending with .inc) up. Nice and neat.
Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, @Nameslave unrepentantly embraces #Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard inspired at least partly by Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.
yeah - most of my sites are deisgned that way - shtml will do the same but using php gives you the option of using all of phps features in the future if you want to
almost all my pages are shtml and I'm on an OC12 pipeline working several servers for a huge network of famous sites
the reason
my first counter script needed it
it worked great
not broken so don't fix
I get teased by the admins of the OC12 all the time
when you gonna get a real counter
hehe
they lose 10 Grand a month
I make 30K

laughing all the way to the bank
