static pages or forums?

Is there a difference in SEO performance or revenue generation if I take an article and put in inside a forum as a new post, or put it in html on a web page?


Sorry if this is a often asked question - feel free to say oob and throw me a link to the answer.

I have heard people who say they are in the know with SEO say search engines such as Google and Yahoo prefer blogs or forums or static pages as , but it just sounded strange.

It seems that static .html pages are the best for Search Engines.

.html pages would be the best solution for seo'ing.
