I don't want to miss out on this traffic, so I would like to know:
- What advertising would you put on there to monetize the traffic?
- What content should I add to the site (blog, domain registering, forum etc)
- Should I invest in a new custom site?
I'm just a bit stuck for new ideas at the moment.
Thanks!

Did you do anything to cause the spike in traffic?
First, identify the source of traffic. It could be typo, bot or other junk traffic. There is no content, therefore referrer traffic should be minimal. Not all traffic can be monetized, especially on blogs.
Yeah...I just had a domain that was always getting between 20-30 hits a day and suddenly it went up to about 5-600 a day...I have no idea what brought it on and I spent a while trying to figure it out. It did this for about 2 months...
It seems to have leveled out at about 50-60 hits/per day and has always been about a 10% CTR no matter what I do...well I have only tried about 5 different keywords with about the same results. It was really a mystery to me.
thanks for the advice, still not sure where the traffic is coming from really! referer info just shows the usual google search, aol search, yahoo search, dnforum etc etc. It is going down slightly now, 132 uniques yesterday. Some of it is possibly bots by what I see. I've added CJ, will be putting adsense on there, as bidvertiser is USELESS!
just changed the design of the site. comments please
Sometimes all that it takes is one newspaper (etc.) mispelling or putting the wrong extension on a name making it your name! This can result in great traffic for a few days and $75 in unexpected parking fees. It may not be something to develop a site over though.
Once it was for 10 lovely weeks and over a grand came in. My name was the name of a Summer replacement TV show. Damn. They didn't pick it up!

Websites: VintageRadio.com | 73.biz
traffic has settled down to just above average now - around 50 uniques per day, thanks for all the advice! have noticed one or two more orders and inquiries per month but not many more than normal!
The site needed an overhaul with some new content on there anyway.
