Could anybody share stories about traffic how they got it and how they tried? Is it all about search engines and promotion, or has anybody had luck other ways, ie affiliates, buying traffic, etc....

Yes SE traffic is very good, but I find it hard to get.

Unfortuanatly for me, it is the most oveerlooked part about my site. I focus so muc more on the design and content and funcionability but little time on SE optimization. My rank is very low, and I only have 19 links to me :(

I just pay google because I am lazy, it works but is $$$

I once was able to rank my site 8th on Google whenever the term 'auction scripts' was searched for. It was a proud moment Even then, not much traffic came. It was my first real SE Optimization job.
