Upcoming Trend -> Available Domain (Alert / List Service)

I have a quick question for all you experienced domainers.

I've developed a system that scours the internet (news, blogs, twitter, aggregates, etc) for word or phrases that are occurring more often than others or in certain patterns, then checks the availability of the ".com" for that phrase and if available emails me to let me know. This process is running 24 / 7 on a server I own and is a fully automated system.

I am continually refining the algorithm used to detect such upcoming trends, but am getting great results already. I intend to automate the domain registration portion of the process as well, but for now, I still need to manually separate the chaff and hand reg domains as they come up.

Does anyone think that this idea as a service to the domainer community would be worth anything? I'm thinking either licensing the software or offering it as a subscription based service with email alerts. Has this already been done before, and if not, is anyone here interested in this service? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Your service will be useful and I am sure domainers will sign up after you demonstrate to them that names picked up via your trending forecast were either developed into a viable online business, sold to resellers or domainers, and profited upon.

Today, wery few domainers buy on speculation without hard data. Especially if they have to pay for a service that is not proven to make money.

Use your (own) service and log in ACTUAL sales and profit data. Only then will you find customers. And then there are folks who will try just about anything. But, that business model will not last too long.

I absolutely agree with you on having a *proven* model before people would be willing to put their hard earned dollars into it.

I've bought roughly 30 domains using this program within the last few weeks and will have my revenue and profit numbers to put up soon on those as a proof of concept. Assuming though that it does in fact work, has anyone heard of anything like it before and would you want to use it?

I'd make sure the algorithm nails the life expectancy of target phrases before flipping the auto reg switch. Your idea will definitely interest many domainers. Post a few of your hand regs if you want deeper constructive criticism.
