Re: What do you think of my search engine? Can I compete with GOOGLE?

nice design, but honestly it looks like a typical PPC cookie cutter site that you'd find
on ebay. i know i must have seen a million of these by now.

i wouldn't expect much retention when you have buttons that claim to be "stock"
but all they do is lookup stock on a PPC and spit back some paid for results.

when i click on stock, or news. I want to read the news or stock quotes. i don't
care to see some PPC results.

everyone loves google because it simple. easy on the eyes. and gives the user what
    they're looking for.

no offence, but i seriously doubt this site will ever generate any real profit based
on its current layout and style in which info is pulled.

    good luck.

now that i took anther look at it, none of the sidepanel buttons seem to work. their
URL destination is #. same goes for the right side links.

i don't get it, why would you ask someone to rate a site that's obviously not even
    close to being done.

Because I am still developing it and want suggestions. Those buttons like "stock" will give you real information, not results. The site is far from being finished but I wanted some comments so I can integrate them into my site.

Re: What do you think of my search engine? Can I compete with GOOGLE?

It's a nice look... more graphically appealing than other ppc engines, but I'm concerned that the "header" is too big... many PPC sites are visited by the 640x480 and 800x600 crowd and you're "wasting" half the screen with your header.

The real measure of a good ppc isn't how it looks anyway... it's how good are your per-click bid prices and what percent are you paying out to your traffic providers. The fancy pages are more graphically intense and hence slower to load, frustrating some users and ultimately resulting in lower revenue.

Why do you think domain sponsor, domain spa, and fabulous are using mainly text-based pages, and google's home page has 1 light-weight graphic on it?

Because they can't afford the extra bandwidth!

It's eye candy- and that's not good for a PPC imo

Re: What do you think of my search engine? Can I compete with GOOGLE?

1.the search results font is too small and hard on the eyes .. titles need to be bigger, colored, and bolded.
    2. Too busy (eye candy is correct, in my opinion ...)

    Just my opinions.

On the left hand side under the Navigation menu, the very first things there is not spelled correctly.

    It's not "How it work",

    it's

    "How it works"

yes, they'll like it so much that vistors will never see the rest of the internet!

Seriously though, PPCs/SEs should be simple designs. Everyone likes the beauty of simple.

Get rid of the animated guy in the top left..just my personal opinion but I would make him static. Or make him only move as maybe a java mouseover or something.
